Estratest is a medical treatment for a patient who displays menopausal symptoms but is delicate or does not show progress with estrogen treatments. Estratest can also be used as a treatment for conditions other than menopause.
Before taking Estratest, several conditions are needed to be checked by the doctor. If you are delicate to Estratest ingredients the doctor may prescribe types of treatment other than Estratest. You can not also use Estratest if you have blood clotting problem history, unusual vaginal bleeding, estrogen-related tumor, serious liver problem, breast cancer, porphyria – a disease in the blood or if you are presently pregnant, planning to get pregnant or currently milking.
Furthermore, your doctor will check on your present and previous medication. The doctor may recommend discontinuing or adjusting the dosage of your present medication. Your previous treatment might also affect the performance of your Estratest treatment. Tell the doctor if you taking non-prescribed drugs, herbal medicines or diet supplements. Check if you have certain allergies with drugs or food. Discuss with your doctor if you have negative mammogram results, breast lumps, diabetes, heart problems, lupus, endometrial cancer, blood circulation problems, liver disease, kidney disease, gall bladder problems, high level of cholesterol, lipid problems, triglyceride, abnormal levels of calcium, hypertension, yellow discoloration of the eyes or the skin, pancreatic inflammation, tumors found in the uterus, obesity or previous surgical operation.
Drug interactions are also common so tell you doctor if you take the following: methotrexate, grapefruit preparation, cyclosporine, cimetidine, dantrolene, exemestane, diabetes medicines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, antibiotics, anastrozole, griseofulvin, herbal preparations for menopause, prednisolone, cortisone, hydrocortisone, isoniazid, letrozole, mineral oil, Phenytoin, tamoxifen, raloxifene, rifabutin, rifampin, rifapentine, thyroid hormones, testolactone, warfarin, topiramate, imipramine, amitriptyline and other tricyclic antidepressants.
There may still be other drugs that can cause interaction with Estratest so be sure to mention all the medications you are taking.
When taking Estratest tablets, follow the directions given to you by your doctor. Read to get full information on the drug label. Ask your doctor if you can take Estratest along with your regular meal or not. To prevent the harmful results of worsening Estratest side effects, treatment with Estratest must be done within a very short period of time. During this period, your progress should be recorded. A short term treatment with Estratest will also produce more beneficial effects. Always be on time with your dosing and avoid missing out on a single dose. If you skipped a dose, resume intake on the next schedule of dose. Do not attempt to increase or decrease your dosage if your doctor does not say so. Doubling your dosage to catch up a missed one might hinder Estratest effectiveness or might trigger a serious side effect.
Estratest side effects may range from mild to severe. Contact your doctor right away if any of these side effects experience becomes intolerable. Common Estratest side effects include unusual growth of hair in some parts of the body, affected sexual urge, cramps, enlargement of the breast, bloating, acne, unusual skin sensation, dark spotting on the face, involuntary body movements, headache, scalp hair loss, nausea, PMS or premenstrual syndrome and unusual deepening of the voice.
Serious side effects of Estratest include the following: dizziness, faintness, memory loss, mood swings, mental changes, migraine, breathing shortness, speech problems, vaginal infection, pain in the stomach, swelling of some body parts, vomiting, weight loss or gain, tightening of the chest, blood discharge when coughing, menstrual problem and rashes.
Inform your doctor right away and seek medical attention if any of the mentioned side effects become unbearable. Keep your Estratest tablets away from children’s reach and make sure to store it in a dry place with temperature not exceeding 30 degrees Celsius.
