Prempo’s active ingredients are medroxyprogesterone and conjugated estrogens. It’s like most other conjugated estrogen drugs except that it is considerably mixed with another hormone called progestin. Use of estrogens in patients is seen to have a good result in maintaining the proper body functions among women. Conjugated estrogens specifically can serve as a symptomatic reliever for menopausal conditions like mood swings, vaginal irritation and vaginal dryness, hot flashes, and night sweating. Prempo is also generally used to stop the occurrence of osteoporosis, which is more likely to occur in menopausal patients. With the hormone called progestin around, Prempo can help reduce the over formation or production of uterus lining. The medroxyprogesterone component in Prempo thus helps prevent the occurrence of endometrial cancer.
