Silver Sulfadiazine or Silvadene in the U.S. and Flamazine in Canada is an antifungal agent used to treat bacterial infections in burned skin areas. Silvadene cream is applied on affected areas to prevent bacteria from developing and growing. It works by killing bacteria on the cell wall and cell membrane.
